We're in the season of looove, which is the perfect time to talk about sex! If your love life needs a bit of a boost in the bedroom, aphrodisiacs are a great place to start, along with open communication between you and your partner of course. Here's a list of 10 essential oils with aphrodisiac properties that will have you ready to go in no time.

Black Pepper Oil's warming ability helps promote blood flow to your chilly extremities. Dilute well with a carrier oil such as fractionated coconut oil, jojoba oil, etc. for a spicy massage, or diffuse in your bedroom to set the mood. Some other oils you can blend with Black Pepper to kick things up a notch are Cardamom, Clove, or Juniper Berry. Besides its aphrodisiac properties, Black Pepper also supports emotional balance, flavors your food, promotes a healthy immune system, aids in kicking smoking habits, and more!

Give your libido a boost with another warm and spicy essential oil, Cinnamon Bark! This is a lovely warm spice we all know and love, now we love it even more! For a stimulating massage, dilute well with a carrier and exchange back rubs with your partner. Blend with Patchouli, Wild Orange, or Clove to enhance the experience. Additionally, Cinnamon Essential Oil is also fantastic for supporting a healthy immune system with its antiseptic, antimicrobial, anti-fungal, and antiviral properties, among many others.

This calming, yet stimulating, oil comes from the seeds of the Cilantro plant, and has a wide variety of uses, such as supporting a healthy digestive system, soothing achy joints, reducing body odor, and more! Diffuse aromatically or apply topically. Other arousing oils that blend well with Coriander include Clove, Neroli, and Peppermint.

Known as the "Queen of the Night", Jasmine has a euphoric, floral scent that will empower you to fulfill your wildest fantasies. Massage diluted over the abdomen and the back of your neck to boost your libido, soothe PMS symptoms, and promote emotional balance. This versatile oil blends well with other aphrodisiac oils such as Neroli, Rose, and Sandalwood.

Another floral fragrance, Neroli rejuvenates and arouses you. Be careful though, a little goes a very long way and can be heavily diluted while maintaining its effectiveness. Neroli oil is extrodinarily versatile, being used to promote a healthy sex drive, aid in soothing emotional distress, support good mental health, act as a perfume or room freshener, and much, much more. For topical use, dilute heavily before massaging onto pulse points and abdomen, or diffuse aromatically. Several seductive oils play well with Neroli, such as Jasmine, Rose, Sandalwood, Ylang Ylang, and Wild Orange.

This earthy, grounding oil is not only great for your bedroom adventures, but also for repelling insects outdoors, soothing insect bites and stings, promoting healthy hair & skin, and emotional balance. You can simply diffuse Patchouli aromatically, or massage onto pulse points. Both Sandalwood and Vetiver blend nicely with this oil and add to the amorous atmosphere.

Radiant and floral, Rose oil helps promote feelings of intimacy and connection. Apply diluted to the abdomen for a boost to your libido, or simply diffuse.

In addition, Rose oil is also used to promoted emotional balance, assist in healing minor wounds & scars, and support healthy, youthful skin. Among the various oils that blend well with Rose, Neroli and Sandalwood will aid in enhancing your erotic experience.

Sweet, woody Sandalwood is wonderful for supporting healthy libido, moisturizing a dry scalp, emotional balance, aiding in healing minor wounds & skin infections, and promoting a good night's rest. Fun fact: Sandalwood has been, and still is, used in spiritual practices such as meditation & yoga, as well as for various religious reasons. You may either diffuse aromatically or dilute and massage yourself or your partner. If you'd like some extra oomph, blend with Neroli, Patchouli, Rose, or Ylang Ylang.

Get wild with Wild Orange! Uplifting, invigorating, citrus will soothe your anxieties & stresses, boost your energy & creativity, and support balanced emotions. Diffuse aromatically, ingest (only if the oil you're using is pure and approved for internal use, such as doTerra), or dilute and massage. For some added stimulation, blend with Cinnamon, Neroli, or Peppermint.

Last but certainly not least, this oil is known for its strong aphrodisiac properties. Used to boost a low libido and balance hormones, Ylang Ylang is sure to bring passion and romance to the bedroom. Soothing stress & anxiety, calming an upset stomach, and promoting healthy blood flow are just a few of the other uses for Ylang Ylang. Apply to pulse points and abdomen, or diffuse aromatically. Sandalwood pairs well with this oil for an extra kick.

**Please note: I am not a doctor, and I firmly believe in a healthy balance between alternative and traditional medicine. If you or your partner are struggling in the bedroom, please see your doctor to rule out any serious medical conditions or medication side-effects. Additionally, if you or your partner is pregnant, please use caution when using essential oils. I always encourage you to do your own research, especially when involving the health & safety of you and your baby.**
